I want to thank two major rock stars.
@cclarry — he’s literally the reason that the Cakewalk Deals subforum (it was just part of their Coffee House Forum, you couldn’t even find it easily; what Ashwin from BandLab calls “the legacy forums; used by an older demographic that BandLab doesn’t really care about) — exist, he’s the person that made the Deals subforum a place we came back to again and again. No one — NO ONE — matches cclarry. No human or deals site. I knew when Larry and I teamed up, that we’d be able to bring a really wonderful group of people to a better environment. There’s no way I would have done this without Larry. Dead serious about that.
@pseudopop – Wow. What an incredibly helpful person who thinks so much about others (a trait near and dear to my heart). He really stepped up and contacted everyone on my pretty big list of people that I quickly put together of people that I missed and wished would be part of this community.
Now, if you weren’t on the list, please don’t take offense. I wrote it really quickly from memory and I’m sure that I forgot a bunch of names. I’m terrible with people’s names but have this ability to remember details about people at a level far better than most people. It’s a really odd combination, but I’ve always been that way. For example, my son has two college roommates. Before I got to know him and have some really deep conversations, I regularly forgot his name. But I could tell you details like his favorite classes in HS. That he plays the tuba and was in the honors band throughout HS. About his rivalry with another kid. About his social life. About his love of Shrek. About his contempt for a couple of pizza chain restaurants. About his love of McDonald’s. I can tell you that he’s a nuclear physics major. I could even tell you about a health diagnosis he confided in me — but I wouldn’t because it’s confidential. Even so, I could still forget his name. However, lately, since we had a really deep conversation, I can remember his name super well. To prove it, I’ll share it here. It’s Peter. (Sadly, I’m not even kidding. we share the same name and I still have forgotten his name a few times!).
I think we could use the group psychologist to explain this one! @jude77, what do you think?
