As this site is about our shared love of music, I’ll end this thread on a song I’ve loved since I was a kid and always wanted to cover in my playing days because the message is one I think is important. To me, music is intertwined with my hopes and idealism for how we treat one another.
I also have a related story to go along with this one. A friend of mine is a psychologist who works for a charity, a residence for homeless families. She told me how Todd donated instruments to the home, spent a day with the kids, played music with them. Being a fan of his music, I, of course, loved hearing that he’s also a really decent person. Todd refused to allow the media to take pictures and use it as a photo opp. She sat next to him at dinner and talked to him not knowing anything about his career, besides he was a professional musician (she’s more than a decade younger than me and is into more 90s and current pop). She just thought he was a super nice guy who genuinely cared about the families he spent time with. When I later shared some of his music, it clearly wasn’t to her liking. In any event, I approve of this message.
