It’s a pretty soft, intimate sound. I don’t think “cutting thru a mix” is one of it’s hallmarks. I think of it more like a piano for Lumineers-style music where it doesn’t have much competition with other instruments. But on the other hand, it’s lack of forwardness would allow it to blend very well in the background to add a little something to what’s already there. You know, one of those things where you don’t know it’s there until you take it away.

Thanks for the insights, @fretman. I appreciate it. The Lumineers’ style reference still tempts me, as I really love doing very acoustic singer-songwriter stuff, even though I’ve never shared any of it.
