I had TS Max 4 installed and upgraded to TS Max 5. Bear with me- That upgraded my T-Racks 5 to T-Racks 6. All my T-Racks 5 stuff is still named TR5-xxxxx.vst and only the new stuff for T-Racks 6 (I think ten maybe?) are named TR6-xxxxx.VST They all work fine. I assumed the naming was to keep the installer happy. Are you sure there is any difference? I actually deleted all the TR5 VSTs back before I installed TR6 and all the pre-TR6 versions still came back as TR-5xxxxx.
<edit> More importantly I suspect, for back compatibility, the naming was kept. I would have to fix a lot of errors in past projects if it changed them.
