I’m demoing Virtual Pianist Relic and I love the tone of the piano library.

There’s a lot of presets. The one thing that is super annoying is that I have no interest in their MIDI parts, I want to play everything myself, and it’s too easy to go through presets and find that stuff automatically playing (I’m guessing that bumped into a keyswitch that triggers it without realizing it; but it’s not readily apparent from the GUI and that’s really annoying when you just want to play an instrument).

If this deal were just these two pianos for $43 (Best Service’s price for the Select 5 deal) instead of 4 pianos plus one other instrument, it would be a no-brainer for a piano instrument this good with so many inspiring presets. The fact that it comes down to around 9 bucks for this piano is insane. I’d urge anyone even slightly interested to do a demo before this deal is over. I won’t bother with another demo given how much I love the sound of Relic. The reality is, this kind of pricing does make it difficult for sample developers to price their piano libraries at $125 or more when you can so easily pick up a fantastic piano sample library like Virtual Pianist or IK’s Pianoverse for what comes out to be $9 to $30 per piano library. It puts the premium libraries into a category that hits a much smaller target market — pros and bigger budget amateurs. While that makes things more challenging for sample developers, I think it’s fantastic for music producers.
