… at’s a fantastic deal for the Lifetime Deal buyers. I did not expect that. Considering that you bought the lifetime deal, I am guessing this makes you pretty happy. Is that right, @bluescat?Yes, I definitely think they did “the right thing” to treat us “early supporters” fairly. There is discussion about this on the Musio Discord if anyone is interested. I am disappointed to read your posts in the Members area about Musio having a couple devs poached by a rival. Musio should have a pretty good “leg up” on their competitors though, having already written the tools to convert Kontakt libraries to Musio. I have to think some Kontakt devs have been looking at alternatives, at least as a co-development effort, since NI revealed its frailty.
@bluescat That was SoundPaint developers that Mike Greene was secretly making an offer to just months after leveraging VI-Control to make attacks with false claims about 8Dio using, without disclosing that Mario/Evil Dragon and Sarah are contractors for 8Dio competitor Impact Soundworks, while Mario also works for Mike Greene doing Kontakt scripting.
Mario / Evil Dragon. Mario now serves as the new 8Dio / SoundPaint competitor’s brand evangelist, promoting the new company wherever he can. You can find him hyping Greene’s new SoundPaint/Musio/Kontakt competitor platform at VI-Control, 8Dio, etc.
The connection to Musio is that Greene went on to attack Musio / Cinesamples months after his attack on 8Dio and one of the first developers that Greene brought aboard his new platform was SoundIron, which was working with Cinesamples’ Musio.
Note that Greene’s attacks on both Cinesamples/Musio and 8Dio/Musio occurred just after these competitors pulled their money from supporting VI-Control due to Greene’s troubling practices at VI-Control. Unquestionably, VI-Control is the premier promotional platform for sample developers, so it’s a powerful tool for a sample developer to use against their competitors.
The big question is: can Greene successfully leverage VI-Control to destroy other developers as he’s attempting to do and even tried to recruit me to help him with, inspiring me to create LinkedMusicians, not as a competitor, but as an alternative for music producers who loathe toxic environments and deceptive practices.
