Okay, this is kind of an internal ad, but it’s really important!
In the last 7 days we’ve had an increase of 45.8% in new visitors over the previous 7-day period, and average visit length has increased by 27.3%. Visitors returned an average of 8x in that 7 day period. Those stats are very encouraging. Okay, it’s also why the site crashed this morning — as it had to be reconfigured to handle more traffic/processes, as this week is the highest amount of traffic we’ve ever had.
However, the conversion from unregistered visitor to registered visitor is very, very low and it’s clear why. These visitors aren’t seeing many comments on the forum posts. That’s curable, If you can pitch in by commenting on posts — plus that’s why this site exists — for us to have conversations. So please, let’s hear from you! It will also help the site to grow.
If people saw, that Jorge shared his negative experience with Karanyi, the developer/owner, ended up coming to the site. But then the developer completely ignored the problem and Jorge. It servces as a case study in terrible customer service and arrogance and it’s starting to rank high in Google searches for Karanyi — so even if the guy has no ethics, he’d be wise to try to resolve things with Jorge and to do it publicly, as I”m not about to remove the thread.
I can promise you that as this site grows, developers like him will be less likely to blow off customers and not care. One of the purposes of this site is to be a champion for our community with the developers they buy from. NO other forum would do that because they prioritize advertising developers over music producers, that’s reality. But this site is my passion project. We are all on equal footing here, and I will go NOT censor our community members who share negative experiences with developers (as long as they remain civil and don’t violate the rules, of course). If you noticed, that is what I did for Jorge. I personally never had a bad experience with Karanyi, but I empathized with Jorge and let him share his story — unedited here. Most developers, and every ethical developer, would have responded by making things right with Jorge. Karanyi didn’t. But don’t let that discourage you if you have a problem with another developer. personally would strongly recommend not using Karanyi or any other developer where it’s clear that they treat their customers as badly as Karanyi treated Jorge; I not only didn’t bother with Karanyi’s affiliate program, I no longer post their deals from the stores I am affiliated with. My logic is this, if I know that a developer or retailer doesn’t provide good customer service, I WILL NOT post their deals here. Other people can post their deals, but I won’t and I and others may comment in those threads so that those who see it no about the poor customer service.
Finally, let me know if there’s anything I can do to make the site more appealing for you to comment. I’m listening and will seriously consider your input. Hopefully, it’s now becoming clear how very different this community is from the various composing, gear, and other forums. I guarantee that not only will you likely get a post like Jorge’s censored on VI-Control, GearSpace and other major sites, none of those site owners will go to bat for you. Not one. Because it kills the potential ad revenue stream from that business.
