The last AD2 update was far beyond my expectations. I only hope they come out with AD3 soon. I actually started using AD2 a lot more after the last update (otherwise, I’m a big SD3 user).

Wait, anger works in a lot of genres. Punk, metal, hard rock, rock, rap… Although it’s a lot less effective if you were working on a ballad or soft rock.

Anger does work great in ballads if mixed with a healthy quantity of tears and / or whining.

Same. I had an AD2 license from a bundle and was never much inspired to use it, but that changed big time when 2.5 came out and was a free upgrade.

Elevated my opinion of XLN a great deal, and got me using a really great virtual instrument that had dropped off my radar.

I don’t like to admit that I can be so influenced by a plug-in’s visuals, but these are musical instruments, and the same rules apply to physical ones. If it looks good, it inspires me to use it.

Same here. I think it was more than a decade ago that Greg (Orange Tree Samples) told me how much he liked it than gave me a bunch of presets he made for it. Greg shared a bunch of his AD2 presets — for free — at his Preset Galaxy site. I’d strongly recommend them for anyone who owns AD2. For me, it was like getting new kits. I do make my own presets, but I don’t know how to craft them anything close to what Greg can do. You can find them here:
