I’ve been the main alpha tester for this program for the past several months and I have achieved very respectable results with both Studio One v6 and v7.

Don’t expect a true null but do expect a reasonable translation to work with. You main goal would be to start (re) mixing the CbB created song in Studio One with most (if not all) 3rd party plugins being in the Studio One project as well some reasonable translations of settings for Pro Channel Comp and EQ using Presonus plugins.
Please read the whole above linked thread so you’ll know what to expect and how to use the program.
Happy translating!

I can also report that @Zargg (Ken) has used the utility a few times and is pleased with the results too.

I got it downloaded but I’m totally baffled as to how to install and run it. When I unzip it and click on the install icon I get a quick flash of light and then nothing. I’ve searched, but can’t find it anywhere on my computer. I changed my computer setting to run 32 bit programs and tried installing again, but I can’t see anything happening. Obviously, I’m doing something wrong. Any help would be tremendously appreciated.

I haven’t tried it myself, but from reading the linked forum page, there isn’t an “install” as such.
You unZIP it and then it runs as a command line program. So double clicking on it will just very quickly open a command prompt that displays an error message and then exits too quickly to read the error message.
Simplified, from the azslow forum page:
From a command prompt (CMD), type: <path to executable>\cwp2song <path to the project>\<project name.cwp>
So if you put the cwp2song.exe file in the folder C:\CWP2SONG, what you would do is first open a command prompt, then type cd\CWPSONG then hit enter. Then type cwp2song then a space, then the path and name of the project file you want to convert then hit enter.
As in: cwp2song C:\Cakewalk Projects\MyProject\MyProject.cwp <Enter>
After which you should find MyProject.song in the project folder.

Correct, and then after you open the newly created .song file it’s best to immediately do a Save As (so as to store the A1 song elsewhere than the original Cake song folder).

@peter can we make this one a sticky here?

I think this is a very useful information, but I don’t think it’s a good fit for the Deals Forum, which is a highly dynamic forum (i.e, new sales promotions are constantly created and expire) where the only stickies I can imagine having would be related to the site rules and things we especially want users of that forum to know. The appropriate fit for it is the “Digital Audio Recording Production Tools / Techniques” Forum where there’s already a thread for it. I can make that thread a sticky if you like. I think it has enough usefulness to warrant it.
