It applies to purchases made from IK’s store and from authorized resellers. From IK’s FAQs:
“From September 18, 2025, through October 31, 2025, purchase and register any qualifying products from our online store or IK authorized resellers, and select 2 other qualifying products of equal or lesser value (software only).”

Cool. One drum kit at PB and get 2 extra is pretty good. Was wondering if this would get a path to some serious stuff:
https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/2-Effects/18-Amp-Simulator/12669-AmpliTube-5
But it says this:
* Excluded products: Non-upgrade versions of TONEX, AmpliTube 5, SampleTank 4, and Miroslav Philharmonik 2. Also excludes T-RackS Space Delay, Lo-Fi Punch, and Tape Echo.
yes. that is the mystery. i think it just means serial numbers that you register for those products that come with hardware they sell. IIRC, you get free software with their pedals and speakers and so on. but i am not sure.
Gear & Setup:
Instruments: guitars, lapsteels, mandolins, bass, e.t.c.
Hardware: Mac Mini M2 Pro 32gb, Windows 10 Pro 32gb
DAWs & other stuff: FL Studio, Cubase, Maschine
Amp Sims: Amplitube, AmpRoom, S-Gear, Stark
Sorry, never done this one before despite it being a craze at the other place. lol. So …
The Group Buy counter will increase each time a new qualifying product is purchased and registered. Each time a Group Buy milestone is reached (500, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, and so on up to 15,000 registrations), you’ll earn another FREE qualifying product of equal or lesser value.
If I got one thing, and selected (currently) 2 other freebies, a milestone is reached, then I can get another free thing automatically? Like, it doesn’t do any good to wait until say it’s 5 things free, get in now and good to go?

You can buy a qualifying product via a dealer. Note that it needs to be digital delivery software $/€99.99 or over and there are some exclusions that you can find on the group buy page linked in the main post.
I represent IK Multimedia so I will post official things. I also may just post random things as a real human being because I also represent one of those. I will try to be clear when I'm just speaking as Peter, instead of "Peter from IK".
I make no promises to be 100% accurate in doing so, though. 🙂
Just a couple of things that don’t seem clear that I hope I can clarify:
One popular scenario I’m already seeing – probably because it is a pretty sterling example of instant gratification – is where someone buys one of the thee TONEX Brown Sound collections and then chooses the other two as their freebies. They get all three for the price of one, instantly. Plus a heck of a lot more as tiers are crossed.
These group buys are pretty popular because we’ve done many in the past and they truly never disappoint with the end result. In this case each product of the 50 would end up costing about $2.

Be strong! Don’t fall for this. Wait until Total Studio Max goes on sale.Studio One, Windows, RME UFX, Yamaha MSP7
It was already on sale recently. And VERY low priced at that. This is an insane deal, we’ve already had people get in just to get the three Brown Sound collections for 99.99 (the price of one) and not even care about where it goes from here.
Hi Peter,
Glad you’re here on LM! I want to buy ARC X. I didn’t see it in the excluded software list but it is for sale under $99 so hoping you can confirm whether it qualifies for this group by.
Thanks,
Doug
Thanks! ARC X is 79.99 for the software only so it is not a qualifying entry but you can choose the software as a free choice if you do purchase something for 99.99+ (and you can use JamPoints on that so you can get a great deal with those JamPoints and your choices will still be 99.99 or below). The ARC X + Microphone is a shipped hardware purchase so that is not included in the Group Buy.

https://linktr.ee/patrickwichrowskiSince this group buy is likely of the greatest interest to our community and people are watching to see how it’s going, I’m going to pin it, while it’s running. However, I’m going to leave it to other LM members to update it when it hits the various tiers.

The first thing I did was chck qualifying products. And I got picture 1.
Tonex.
Then it says…see qualifying Tonex Products and I got this. That’s where the link took me.
So I bought and registered Tonex and there is no promo showing. There is some small text which says non-upgrade products don’t count. So why do they show you the qualifying products when you click the link? This may be a mistake but if it’s not then this is a sneaky, sneaky move on the part of IK.
Edit: I can’t upload the screenshots I took. Check the links though and you’ll see what I mean.

I seriously doubt that they’re being sneaky. It’s much more likely that there’s just something on their website they missed (I’ve been responsible for websites for Fortune 500s and mistakes are a part of life for every website even when your budget is $100 million a year — true story). @peter-ik Can you shed some like on this? @MrFigg Did you just buy the regular Tonex? I realy haven’ty paid much attention to the details on their site (I’ve already exhausted my music related spending budget for the year). I just know that I’ve seen the rules state that you need a minimum purchase of $99.99. I would think that if you bought it directly and it cost $99 or more, you’re in. But let’s see what Peter says (the other Peter, of course!).
Here’s the copy from the IK website:
“This is our most ambitious Group Buy yet, offering you a unique opportunity to complete your music production toolkit. When you purchase and register a qualifying product for just $99.99 or more, you can select two additional software titles of equal or lesser value for FREE! And that’s just the start!”
Now, we know a qualifying product must be AT LEAST $99.99. So, the only question is, if your product meets that criteria — and I think Tonex is $199.99 on the IK site — so I would expect it easily meets the criteria.

Yeah Pete,
I bought regular Tonex. I didn’t even want it to be honest but I like Amplitube and figured why not.
As said, the link for qualifying Tonex Products takes you directly to a page which shows regular Tonex as qualifying.

Is the problem that the product is priced under $99.99? I don’t get it. I would think if Tonex is priced at $99.99 or more — and it’s shown as $199 on the site, that it qualifies. Is that the situation of did you buy the version that’s selling for $29.99 at Plugin Boutique or something like that?
FTR, I do find having that sale going on and calling it Tonex is confusing. But the offer clearly states that the product must be at least $99.99, so that’s crystal clear. But I think the fact that Plugin Boutique is now selling Tonex for $29.99 can still confuse consumers, nonetheless.
I’m not lecturing IK (hmm, that sounds like lecturing IK!), but I really think they should reach out to their retailers and have products like the Plugin Boutique Tonex sale clearly state that it is not eligible for the IK Group Buy deal. Now, I don’t think that means someone who buys that wihout reading the $99.99 mininum copy on the IK site should be gited the Group Buy — I think that would be shady for someone to do, TBH. But I do think that there should be a clarification with retail partners to avoid any confusion.

The problem is this. On the Qualifying Products Page it shows Tonex and then has a link which says “See qualifying TONEX titles.*”.
The link, which I ohbviously clicked on, takes you to the Tonex page which shows which versions of Tonex qualify..
Here’s where it all goes wrong…instead of clicking on the link you should somehow notice the asterisk *…then scroll to bottom of the page where it says this
“* Excluded products: Non-upgrade versions of TONEX, AmpliTube 5, SampleTank 4, and Miroslav Philharmonik 2. Also excludes T-RackS Space Delay, Lo-Fi Punch, and Tape Echo.”
Now…why have a link to show the qualifying Tonex products which people will automatically click on.
Nah…I’m not convinced.
Peter has been good to me in the past, I’ll give him that, but this is not good. I’ve spent money I’d rather have used so the kids wouldn’t have to eat porridge for the rest of the month.
Here it is. Page 1 with the link and the asterisk and page 2 (where the link takes you) which is apparently the qualifying Tonex versions.

But you didn’t answer. Did you spend at least $99.99 that the second sentence of the home page copy clearly states, to qualify for the deal, you must spend as a minimum. If you did, then I can understand why you’re upset and I think you have a point. If you didn’t spend at least $99.99, you clearly don’t have a case. Sorry man, but it’s true.
In any event — we know we have a problem when the kids have to eat porridge because there was a sale on plugins. This is clearly the real underlying issue.

As with all previous group buys, the $99 price refers to the product price on IK Multimedia’s site. It’s always been that way.

Well, I’m just answering this from a marketing, ethics, and marketing law perspective. I have no affiliation with IK beyond being a customer and a friend of Peter, so, I’m not a decision-maker. @peter-ik is the marketing manager with IK. But I’ve already seen this one addressed with this deal, so I know the answer. I can’t remember where I saw it, but it was the same exact situation. And yeah, I don’t think IK is in the wrong on that decision. But they really should have their retail partners put a message on products that can be a source of confusion, like this.

The first page has a clear link to show the qualifying products. Now if you saw that link wouldn’t you think…aaah this will show me the qualifying products. The little star thing…wonder what that is…I’ll click on the link because that what it says to do. (not scroll down to the bottom of the page instead. It would have been another matter if it had stood on the header “please note that…”.
But I’ve already seen this one addressed with this deal, so I know the answer. I can’t remember where I saw it, but it was the same exact situation.
Yeah…on a forum probably right? But IK shouldn’t be relying on people reading forums to get the correct info. They should be making it clear on their own site.

Well, the fact that I’ve seen posts from multiple people who are confused by the fact that they’re selling — at least Plugin Boutique is selling — Tonex at $29.99 tells us they have a problem. That’s sloppy. But this is a slam dunk from a legal, and ethical perspective. The copy is crystal clear. You need to spend at least $99.99 on a product for it to qualfy. It’s very clearly written:
“When you purchase and register a qualifying product below for just $99.99 or more…”
You can try to contort that to make a case for something else, but come on, that’s not being honest. It’s really clear. If you didn’t pay at least $99.99, you don’t qualify. But hopefully Peter will be here soon.
