Update on my Tonex Signature Bass Collection purchase that didn’t qualify for the group buy. Since it was released after the beginning the Group Buy it would not be available as a free title to choose.

The captures in the Bass Collection are top notch, I found many good ones on Tonex Net but these new ones are just unbelievably good. So, I’m going to buy another Tonex collection to enter the Group Buy.

Is Brown Collection 1 a qualifying purchase? I’m asking because I want to make double sure this round 🙂

At least I have plenty of Jam Points to take the edge off this.

What happened with those? I see they’re not even sold on your webshop anymore.

They cannot be part of the promo since they are discontinued.  I know that is disappointing to some, they were available for years, so I’m sorry that you were not able to get them while they were available but they are not going to be sold or given away again at this time or likely ever to be honest.

I’m not an IK employee, but as someone who has been a leader in marketing for decades, a lot of it at tech brands, an brand extensions in the software world often don’t stick around for a decade. It’s more common that they last a lot less. Common reasons that a brand extension like this might be eliminated could be because it didn’t hit sales projections — that is by far the most common reason; if a brand extension doesn’t hit projections, it is very likely to be eliminated (this could be for a variety of reasons, and it may be that the company had other products that needed the staffs attention that were more successful or yielded a higher ROI); there was an issue with the licensing partner (how long was the original agreement; if it had to be renegotiated, perhaps the two parties could not agree on terms); the product had unforeseen technical or legal issues (perhaps there was intellectual property infringement that resulted in legal action from a third party)… There are many reasons why software companies eliminate brand extensions, and it’s just a part of life for every software business.

The reality is, without looking at the product sales, projections, doing a market analysis, knowing the agreement with the party that owns the sounds, knowing the ROI of the product, and knowing how IK distributes its work amongst its staff and the costs it faces, there’s no way of understanding if they made a bad decision or not. We don’t even know their product sales of the line relative to their other product sales. But no company is going to share details that lead to such decisions. At most, they’ll summarize what they want to make public.

How do duplicate licenses or product editions work in the product manager?

I picked up licenses for T-Racks 6 Pro and ToneX standard, already having the MAX version for each through TS5 Max. I see everything in my user area but in the product manager the “lower” editions don’t seem to be listed

this is a low priority question; I’m slowly setting up a spare laptop as a dedicated MainStage system. Appreciate that you’re answering questions all over the web for this promotion.

Update, the Group Buy is presently at 36409 participants with 44 FREE products and needs 1591 participants to reach the next level, 46 FREE products. With Sampletank XL and a ton of libraries for it, some MODO Bass instruments, T-RackS Max, PianoVerse Max, and Amplitube Max, I have been sitting this out. Buta ton of  I have been curious about ToneX. I have seen a ton of positive posts from guitarists and I totally get why they love it. But as a guy who has a few guitars, but can’t play them due to tendinitis, so I only use virtual guitars, does ToneX makes sense for me? I do attempt to tweak presets, but I don’t know what I’m doing and I take it that ToneX is a utopia for guitarists who want to combine their physical and virtual worlds and create their own presets.

Is that right or wrong? And yeah, Peter (IK) is a friend, but I have already asked him enough stuff lately, so I have to spread my many questions around! (Although, if you see this, Peter, feel free to respond!) 🙂

I do attempt to tweak presets, but I don’t know what I’m doing and I take it that ToneX is a utopia for guitarists who want to combine their physical and virtual worlds and create their own presets.

I would say that TONEX is a utopia for guitarists who want to get exactly “THAT” sound easily and quickly. It’s a kind of sampler for tone. You can tweak this and that, but that’s not the point.

When TONEX appeared, its sound seemed to me to be lifeless, especially with regard to the dynamics. The situation is much better now, but I still prefer Amplitube. But I’m not a real pro guitarist, so… 🙂

I got everything I needed/wanted  and a lot of useful things. Every Amplitube collection with pedals processors and rack effects i got them all and discovered some gems there.

At first i thought that the Prism Reverb would not fit in my sound because it’s not so “agressive”, but a week later I found a use for it and was the solution 😀

I really wanted the Sunset Sound Studio Reverb, even if I have his spring reverb in Mixbox. I really love this spring reverb because it has a sense of dimension.

As an YES fan, MODO BASS – Rick n’ Bass was the obvious choice 😀

Pianoverse – Black Diamond B280 and Pianoverse – Hamburg Grand S274 were my first objectives here.

AmpliTube Electric Gypsy had the most interesting stomp models that would fit in my 70’s like sounds.

T-Racks 6 Dual Spring is very nice. I created a match preset of the sound of the AKG BX20 of the Sunset Studio Reverb. Why? Old PC, some graphics in the sunset stresses more the CPU or something almost the same but not so profound is the right choice in certains situations.

AmpliTube Fender Collection helped me in my “Pink Floyd – One Of These Days” bass sound replication. That Tremolo is very close when I sync with delay time in The Binson Echorec emulation from Audiority.

T-RackS NEEDS a good Binson Echorec emulation. This delay is so iconic and fundamental. The Audiority one is the best emulation by far. IK could enter in this game too.

AmpliTube Morley Collection has a insteresting Oil Can Delay. A less definition Binson.

T-RackS CSR Hall Reverb is not as satisfatory as his Mixbox counterpart for long lush reverbs. Reading some forums, I discoverd some complaints of some parameters not working fully (something about half value of you could expect) and they seems a little true. Because the Diffusion seems not so diffuse and the Mixbox version is much more satisfactory with less controls. I’m a luck guy for having Mixbox in this specific case.

Joe Chiccarelli Vocal Strip is really good. has some built in effects and they work very well. Even if ou don’t use this for vocals. Read the manual to know what type of delay and reverbs are the A/B buttons.

When this thing started, it was my understanding that the $29.99 deal for Amplitube at Plugin Boutique didn’t qualify for the Group Buy, but now Bedroom Producers Blog, which is mainly just a hyper monetized advertising outlet, is promoting their affiliate link to the deal as qualifying for the Group Buy on their site, in emails (I’ve received two of them) as a cheap way to qualify for IK’s Group Buy. @peter-ik, can you please weigh in on whether or not that offer qualifies for the group buy or not?

I would hold off right now (Monday morning Oct 27) on processing your promotion slots.

I just confirmed a promotion slot for the Tonex Signature Hyde Street Amp Locker and my browser reported back a 500 connection reset error. The slot is showing as redeemed but I’ve waited way longer than normal for the email confirmation (not received). I also did a restore purchases in Tonex but no Hyde Street Amp Locker.

I just realized that on page 1 of this thread, that Peter (IK, not me!) states that the Plugin Boutique Amplitube deal for $29.99 DOES NOT qualify for the Group Buy.

Now, given that BPB has been hyping the heck out of the $29.99 all over their site and emails, if they didn’t already work something out with IK, I’m guessing that they put IK into a tough spot where if they don’t bend the rules to let people who bought the deal in, they’re going to see a lot of very unhappy folks who bought under the belief that their purchase would qualify for the Group Buy.

If you want to use our affiliate link, a commission will go back to help with the costs of running LinkedMusicians (offhand, I think the rate is 10%, but the rates vary; the larger brands tend to have commissions of 2 – 10%) and you pay the same price. Retailers and developers see it as an alternative to advertising costs. Peter is my buddy, but I’m guessing that the lack of comment is because IK is because he’s super busy and may be working this one out.  I haven’t chatted with him about this.
