I either use this or shimmer shake strike in almost every project
@Teebacca What do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of Shaka and Shimmer Shake Strike?Your friend who keeps the beat.
DISCLOSURE: I’ve advised more than 3 dozen sample and plugin developers on branding and marketing strategy. I’ve never been paid to make posts, they reflect my sincere opinions, and I’ve never been an influencer.
For me, a mixture of simplicity, sample quality, and tweakability go into determining which one i go with.
I go with Skaka for simplicity, the sequences are replicated up and down the keyboard at every octave, they’re also very easy to adjust individual velocities and verb amount wiyhin the plugin. That said, I think shimmer strike’s samples are higher quality.
shimmer strike I go for when doing more detailed orchestral projects that call for more variety with different types of perc maybe not included in skaka. That said i find it slightly more tedious to get the exact rhythm I want, especially as a drummer myself, I want something a very CERTAIN way lol. Not saying you can’t do it in SSS, just might take more time but the quality will ultimately pay off.

May as well include Sharine in the comparison. I like Sharine’s pre-roll. Not sure if the others have that.
