Forums › ALL THINGS MUSIC › Post Recent Great, Creative Cover Versions of Songs
Let’s make this an epic thread of great cover versions of well-known songs. Bands that take a song that we know and make it into their own. Keep it to recent covers, from the last 15 years. Even better if it’s an unsigned band, a gem that isn’t widely recognized doing the cover.
Cover Song: Kashmir by Led Zeppelin
Cover Song: Running Up That Hill, Kate Bush
Cover Song: Boogie on Reggae Woman, Stevie Wonder
Cover Song: Black Hole Sun, Soundgarden
Cover Song: Medley of Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics and Seven Nation Army, White Stripes
FREE: Kontakt Libraries, Synth Presets Loops & Sound FX
TOOLS: Mixing Problem Solver, Songwriter's Toolbox, , QuickGuides, Gear Reviews, Mags & Podcasts
I could list so many Pomplamoose covers…
Harder, Better Faster, Stronger is one to check out, and their cover of Don’t Start Now leaves Dua Lipa in the dust.
My favorite though is Bulletproof. The original by LaRoux sounds like a teenage girl screaming over a video game in comparison.
As far as their mashups, there’s the Jamiroquai/Bee Gees one, and “Pumped Up Kicks/Everything in its Right Place”, and of course “Lovely Day/Good as Hell” makes me smile
