SSL X-Saturator is still on sale for $7.99, probably the lowest price ever on the plugin. Unsurprisingly, I own a bunch of saturator plugins such as Waves Abbey Road Saturator (or whatever it’s called — that’s from memory), and saturators from UAD, XLN and small developers, but this one has received a lot of praise over the years and that price is so appealing. I would demo it, but there’s no way to demo this specific plugin, I’d need to sign up for their subscription, from my understanding, so I’m not interested in jumping through those hoops for a demo.

I thought this video showing the plugin on drums, vocals, bass and guitar, was the best example of X-Saturator that I’ve heard so far. I would love to hear a shootout with other saturator plugins. I’d love to hear from our members who own it or have demoed it. What do you think?
