“VST 2 is not officially supported. VST 2 plug-ins may be loaded (excluding on Native Apple Silicon) when the VST 2 plug-in scanner is enabled in the VST Plug-in Manager. However, Steinberg does not provide support for any issues related to VST 2.”
From the Notes section 🙂
A lot of demo stuff here- https://www.reverbnation.com/daylight

Sounds like a reasonable compromise to me. Only saw some talk about it on KVR or gearspace.
Very wise move to keep VST2 by them as optional, but unsupported. A few of their more recent changes have seen more adoption it seems through different forums etc. Being first to drop VST2 entirely could hurt that new growth.
Seems like an OK compromise for this version.

I just upgraded/installed 15 and the VST2 button (to add support for them) is still in the Plugin Manager window as it was in 14. I don’t actually have any VST2s on my system though. The big feature for me was application zoom. My eyes are old (the rest of me too), and when I upgraded to 4K monitors, the Cubase UI text was painfully tiny (ignored Windows System zoom settings). Steinberg finally put the workaround in 15. Just a 25% bump makes all the difference for me.
