I remembered that I had forgotten to snatch the Ugritone Complete Bundle and went to see if it’s still available, only to find this:
A few months back, we hit you with some heavy news — Ugritone was set to close its doors for good. It felt like the final riff of a track we’d been shredding since 2017. We spoke openly about our struggles, and at the time, it truly felt like our journey had reached its final verse.
But Sometimes, Fate Has Other Plans…
Out of nowhere, we got approached by Audiogroup and Musical Bits in mid-November. Their offer? A shot at keeping Ugritone alive and kicking. Things moved fast, and as of right now, it’s official — Ugritone’s legacy isn’t just surviving, it’s getting a serious power-up. Audiogroup and Musical Bits are taking the reins, and with them, Ugritone’s back in the game stronger than ever.
Who the f**k are these new people?
Musical Bits and Audiogroup are both German companies, who have been doing a lot of cool stuff in the world of audio production tools and instruments over the past 25 years. Audiogroup runs several brands delivering powerful products to sound designers and music producers all over the world, like BOOM Library and Sonuscore, which you may have heard of.
Musical Bits bring in a deep and true knowledge about heavy metal & rock, since they are real metalheads themselves. Two of the founders, Stefan Schmidt and Bastian Emig, have been touring the world with various bands in the past, their most known act being “Van Canto”. They are connected to the right people all over, e.g. bringing legendary producer Charlie Bauerfeind – famed for his work with Helloween, Blind Guardian, and HammerFall – into the fold.
What’s Next for Ugritone?
Not only are Ugritone’s classic sounds sticking around, but they’re also getting some love. Expect updates, bundles, and brand-new tools that stay true to Ugritone’s gritty, raw essence. This isn’t about shiny polish — it’s about keeping it dirty, heavy, and undeniably real. With bigger resources behind us, we’re ready to evolve in ways we simply couldn’t before.
Who’s Still in the Band?
We’re stoked to tell you that Toni, our main developer, is still on board. He’ll keep cranking out the tools you’ve been headbanging to under the new Ugritone banner starting January 1st, 2025. Same Ugritone spirit, now with extra horsepower.
On a more bittersweet note, co-founder Ron D. Rock will be stepping away from Ugritone. He’ll be sharing his own message soon about where his path is taking him next. Much love and respect to Ron for being a driving force since day one.
What’s Next?
This next chapter is gonna be wild. New sounds. New tools. Same raw energy. We’re just getting started. Stick with us and thank you for being with us all this time and in the future.
Stay loud, stay heavy, and keep it raw.
— The Ugritone Team
The Complete Bundle is still available, but the price is now $299. Way too much for me.
It’s great that they can stay in business, but ironically this means that I will most likely never buy their older products unless they are willing to match the historical low ($75 with code for the bundle).
Deep discounts devalue drums.
