What are your top 3 favorite acoustic piano sample libraries / VSTs that you own?
My favorites that I keep going back to, and have used on many of the songs I’ve shared publicly, are:
1. NI Noire
2. Orange Tree Samples Rosewood Grand
3. Embertone 1955 Concert D

Being a keyboard player I’m always trying new piano VSTs but I’m also really picky. Right now the only one I like is the C7 Grand by AcousticSamples. I use it 95% of the time.

I don’t have any of that dev’s libraries. But I heard the audio demos of his Wurlie library only after I bought several other Wurly libraries and I wish I would have just bought his, because it sounds better than any other Wurly library that I’ve heard. He captured the dynamics beautifully — something most developers fail at — and the key noise he put in is perfect. If he ever does a big sale on that library, I’m going to have to buy it. The only reason I haven’t done so already is I felt really stupid at the idea of buying like my seventh Wurly library. Plus I really dislike the UVI user experience. If there was a Kontakt version of the library, I’m fairly certian that I would have bought it by now.

1. Bechstein Digital (sampled as well as in Pianoteq Pro)
2. Orange Tree Samples Rosewood
3. Embertone 1955 Walker
Two out of three of yours are on both of our lists (the Rosewood and the Walker), @fleer. I suspect the Pianoteq piano is excellent, but I have never played it and I’m way over my budget as it is (I recall that it’s pretty expensive). I’ll probably pick up IK Pianoverse MAX at some point during a future sale. The demos sound excellent — I love some of the presets I’ve heard. Did you pick them up? I know that you’ve been interested in them too. Knowing how similar are favorite pianos are, I’d really love to get your thoughts if you have it.
