One of the features that was requested a lot for LinkedMusicians was to have the option for light mode and dark mode. Most of the time I use the site in dark mode, but occasionally use it in light mode. What's your preference?
Which mode do you prefer to use for the LinkedMusicians website?3 CommentsOn a somewhat related note (okay, it’s totally a tangent), my daughter and I were on a long car ride and I put on a playlist of 90s tunes and I told her, “The singer in this band is the guy who wrote the Simpson’s theme song.” True story. Of course, he wrote the song with more than a little help from the Jetson’s theme song.…Read More
You guys asked for it, but I wasn’t able to do it on the forum. @fleer has asked for this many times, and now, I have finally been able to make it happen. Drum roll please…a thank you reaction! I shared the image below in this post, but you can now use a thank you reaction with any post or comment in GROUPS (formerly referred to as walls). I…Read More
@lamia6 Hi there! I just really like the feel of the social platform so much better than legacy forums for conversations. It’s much more like real-time/ real conversations. I realize that our early adopter group is largely used to Cakewalk Forum and the other legacy forums, but this format is so superior, IMO. I just enjoy using it for…Read More
@joegyork My guess is that you were looking at the ACTIVITY view and not The Wall itself. The ACTIVITY view shows you the latest posts on the site, but you need to click at the top of those posts to go to the specific places — the forum or the Group — if you want to make a comment.
I did create a video on this stuff when I was building the…Read More
It’s always good to see you, @jorge.
I’m doing well, @jorge, thanks.
I’ve probably only started less than 10 projects that never saw the light of day (since 2010).
Currently have two in process (Citizen Regen) and maybe one Forum Monkeys if I can Daryl off the couch.
1 CommentYou should share your music here. Everything I’ve heard that you’ve played on has been really top notch. I want to put together a LinkedMusician radio / playlist this year. And no, FTR, I wouldn’t make the cut. But multiple projects of yours would absolutely be worthy and I know a lot of people here would enjoy at least one of your projects, if…Read More
I write a lot of transcriptions for my classical guitar ensemble class, but still can’t tell what makes for good ensemble piece until AFTER I complete the transcription. So, it takes about 5 pieces until I get one that’s really nice. The rest are just sort of nice,
I also use taxi.com to get original pieces into libraries. Here are the stats…Read More
1 CommentIf you’re game, you should share your music in the LM song sharing forum. I plan on putting up a LinkedMusicians playlist later this year including members’ music. I want this community to not just be deals but a place where we encourage one another in our musical endeavors. I’m planning to include a player with a playlist of our members’ music…Read More
Share a little about how often you start and complete music projects (e.g., songs, cues, etc.). Choose the response that is most accurate; share more detail in the comments.
How often do you create and finish a music project?1 CommentAbout my last comnet in the new thread.
Yes @peter, I tried to reply here and I didn’t find the possibility to write anything.
Strange, because I see now that I can do it.
I write here my comments:
In my case, none of the options.
Sometimes, I start a project but it doesn’t like the results and I don’t publish it.
In others I can be wor…Read More
Music Related Useless Fact of the Day:
Comedic actor Chevy Chase was the original drummer in a college band called “The Leather Canary,” which would later be known as Steely Dan.I’m getting soooo many emails from plugin and sample developers that read something to the effect of “Black Friday is Finally Here!” Um, no, it’s literally not finally here. Even more, I’ve started getting these on Tuesday — which, according to my research, is still not Friday.
Hello, all ye Linked ones!
I am still trying to get a rhythm with the new forum but am very excited to see how much it has grown. I am cooking Thanksgiving for all of us this year so feel free to grab a slice of Thanksgiving Pizza!
Thankful for Peter and all of you who make this community so special.
Stay Joyful (and Thankful),
Simeon2 CommentsThat can’t be real, can it? Wait. I just googled it. It is real!!! Horrifying.
In any event, thanks for the kind words, @praisetracks.
Was there a glitch in the matrix, or am I already at an unhealthy number of log-ins per day?
1 CommentPresonus forum…. ?? I have not used Studio One for a while, but I decided to drop in on their forum to catch up. The notice says it was shut down permanently November 11 and please go to my.presonus.com OK- I did. The “community” there is READ ONLY unless you are a paid subscriber to the Presonus Sphere or whatever the new name is. Did…Read More
1 CommentI should have anticipated this…This morning my right wrist is in a lot of pain from tendinitis. No doubt from my spending far too much time on the computer posting deals. I’m using my phone and may not be posting any more deals today unless my tendinitis pain improves.
Sorry. That’s my reality. Hopefully, with an ice pack and some ibuprofen…Read More
Woof! As the new deal guru, I’ve been manically posting. If anyone is game to take over this role, please PM me. I would gladly train you and share my process and focus on other work on the site I need to get too. But whatever happens, we will have a GREAT deals forum.
I have a ton of deals to post and have been prioritizing the ones from…Read More
It’s pretty clear that sample and plugin developers aren’t waiting until Black Friday to have Black Friday-like sales. Clearly, there’s a mad dash by developers for our Black Friday money. We’re on it. Here we are still in beta test mode and already you’ll find more deals at LinkedMusicians Deals Forum than you’ll find at Cakewalk Forums or…Read More
We just went over 100 members — and this is just the beta test group! That’s a pretty nice size beta test group — er, Early Adopters. Yeah, Early Adopters sounds much cooler, right? 🙂
So, I finally got the DNS situation for linkedmusicians emails worked out and should have system emails set up by this weekend. After that’s been thoroughly…Read More
Hello everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I’m signing up a bunch of folks from Cakewalk Forums today. Be sure to keep letting people know about this community, that’s how we grow. It looks like public registration will begin next week. Please let others know that they can be registered for the site by sending an email to lin…Read More
3 Comments@Kirean If someone told you this stuff and you didn’t know it first hand, it would be hard to believe. And still BandLab refuses to fix the more than a dozen times they had data breaches and exposed my real name on their site. Mark them down as incredibly unprofessional.
I’m not well-versed in nor really who who is who behind the scenes, but I guess the ban hammer might have come from upstairs. Yet all my years ‘online’ and going through forums/message boards in all kinds of fields, I really haven’t seen a platform ban all mentions to competitors (DAWs in this case) like that. Then again, being new to music…Read More
So I might have had three cups of coffee today and I’m presently contemplating a fourth cup. This might be my all-time record, but it’s probably not.
I believe I made a new friend last night. It was good to talk to you @mibby
Has anyone else in the community recently picked up the phone and called a community member you made friends with in this group?
I visited a friend I made at KVR in New Zealand, another (Ben, Camel Audio), in Scotland, another in Chicago… I’ve always found it exc…Read More

When I was putting together the specs for the site, one of the things that was really important to a lot of people was to have the option to choose light or dark mode. I think, however, the site evolves — and I’m a big believer that the site should continuously evolve and become more and more adapted to the community based on what we learn about…Read More
