hope you are keeping well – sorry i have been a bit quiet but I decided to “re-issue” an album I did back in about 2013 – I pulled the original album in 2013 together from work I had lying around as it was all a bit of a rush – i was doing it for a Charity that helps save Rhino’s – something very dear to me – I even own a company producing Tech Stuff to catch the Poachers – whilst that has been successful, even though we have tried we still can’t find a Tech solution to catching the real criminals, the Politicians!!!!

Anyway time moves on, and I have been in conversations with another Charity, so thought I would update and reissue the old album – actually it turned into an almost complete re-record – I never did the first album properly, so it seemed like a good idea just to re-record it – everything except the vocals – and of course, as I love making work for myself, i rummaged through the old archives from around the same time, found a couple of new/old tracks, re-recorded those and added them as well! So all now properly recorded, mixed and mastered – it does sound great.

Anyway just waiting for the CD’s to be produced, then we give the lot to the Charity for them to sell to raise funds – last time raised quite a bit so I’m hoping for something similar this time.

Also I have a brand new album on the go – finished writing it now, just sorting out the lyrics then we’ll get onto finalising that – no rest for the wicked!!

this mixtape idea I think is great – it is strange in a way that you came up with this as I had been thinking recently it was probably time I did a “Greatest Hits” (he he he) sort of thing for Devine Lie – we really have a large back catalogue, and I thought it would be fun to select say 12/14 of my favorites.

Are the Mixtapes Audio only or could it be say 12/14 videos?

thanks for the kind comments – been a bit absent the past couple weeks – been finalising our new Album, Over the Edge.

All the music done now, just working on videos / graphics and launch – will be glad when all of that is done

Hi Everyone, Great to be part of this – so to the questions!

1. What country do you live in?

I live in Cape Town, South Africa and Barbados in the Caribbean – split my time roughly equally between both

2. What musical instrument(s) do you play and when did you start playing?

I play Guitar, Bass, Keyboard / Synths and program drums (these days) – I started playing when I was about 11

3. Do you sing?

Only on Demos – I hate my voice!

4. What level of experience do you have with audio engineering?

Pretty good these days – had a lot of practice over the years

5. What genres of music do you play?

Mainly Indie Rock, although I started in a Folk Group, that went electric – also done some dance type stuff with other people

6. What are some of the musical artists and music that inspire you?

Led Zeppelin, Trees, BB King, Tangerine Dream, Hawkwind, Rory Gallagher, Pink Floyd, Gong – i have a very varied taste in Music!

7. Do you do music as a hobby, semi-professionally, or professionally? If you’re a hobbyist did you once do music professionally or semi-professionally?

Sort of a hobby I suppose, although Devine Lie has got quite a bit of traction the last couple of years so sort of semi hobby these days!

BONUS QUESTION

Do you have any musical goals you hope to accomplish?

I love writing and playing music – if it’s liked by other people, that’s good for me
