Anybody else got AYAIC’s M3 product? It’s a pretty impressive tool for the mix stage of a project.
If the author’s science is correct (all based on the concept of universal laws of level planes) it makes a mix rather quick and more accurate compared to this amateur’s mixing skills.
I took a project where I had applied all the EQ, compression to the tracks and set all the FX sends to FX buses and the reset all faders to 0.
Inserted m3 on the master bus. Inserted m3 on all the tracks and busses. Then used their presets for the appropriate level plane for the element (tracks, fxs and buses). then did a learn on all tracks/fxs. Followed that with a learn on all buses. Then followed that with a learn on the master bus.
The whole process too about 1 hour (44 tracks, 4 fxs and 6 buses).
I then did an a/b on the manual mix I did which probably took on the order of 20 hours over multiple days of mixing, running out to the car listening and making notes, tweaking (rinse and repeat).
What I found was that only had to change the level plane of maybe three elements (took on click of the mouse per element (chose the wrong preset where there were multiple presets). Took another 10 minutes.
The result was an equal mix of quality compared to my manual mix but with a whole lot less rinsing and repeating.
IMO it’s an amazing product and since I owned his earlier release of Mix Monolith (which TBH is the same concept but a little clunkier to use) I paid a pre-release price of $19.99 IIRC (maybe $29.99). Bets pre-release $ I’ve ever spent.
