I wondered what all the WUP was about 🙂 – All my Waves plugins (most acquired for a fraction of the price or free) are working fine going back to 2018 without paying for updates. I did weed out some older Waves plugins that I wasn’t using.

I didn’t realize that they could stop working on updated or newer Mac’s.

I find it’s gate works better on individual drum tracks to quiet down bleed from other drums that the gates included in mixer strips. The default preset on the drum bus with just a bit more “amount” for low end enhancer and high end enhancer improved punch and clarity. Transient shaper and mic listen compressor are on also but at default settings.

I bought this the other day. I downloaded and tested it on our band’s rehearsal tracks. I have a template in Cakewalk that I import the unprocessed multi-tracks that our Soundcraft Ui24R can record internally. I have a drum bus that I applied this too and it was easy to improve the sound of the kick, snare and cymbals.

On today’s to-do list to demo this amp. I always viewed this amp as a just for modern (metal branch) rock but I think I need to play through it and see if it’s overdrive might be useful for more traditional rock. I usually use the PA Nembrini developed Ampeg B15N.

Figured it out – After manually choosing Options > External Devices > Add > choose manufacturer > model and then look on the right lower section (MIDI Channels) and drop down “Receive From” and it will present the MIDI devices present.

Had some PB virtual cash and user or Scaler 2 so $22 upgrade for me. I like the new version. I also use HookPad (HookTheory). It’s fun to experiment with different chord sequences.

I bought it “on sale” for $40 and have been very happy with it. I needed that amp for some 60’s covers and it worked perfectly for that. I could now probably reproduce the sound in Tonex but with the Nembrini modeled version I have more control.

We considered ProTools but have decided to either go iMac Mini and Logic or stay on the PC and move over to Reaper. Happy so far Cakewalk by Bandlab but not confidant we won’t be forced to subscribe which isn’t happening. If you need “industry standardization” 🙂 a cheap Focusrite might be a good way to go.
