Comparing to the other forum, I think the economy of data presentation is pretty similar (a good thing) except for two things I have noticed so far.
1) Here there is no apparent indicator that you have read a topic (is there?), whereas it is dimmed over there. Easy to scroll over the stuff you already read when you are taking more time later for…Read More

I agree especially with point 1. I also liked the system at the other place where if you clicked on the bullet to the left of the post, it brought you to the first unread reply. I don’t know if that is possible to do in this forum but it would sure make me dance with joy if that were possible.

Hey Brian, it just occurred to me. There is something about the left hand navigation panel that may not be clear to everyone: that when you click the arrow at the bottom of it, it narrows. Idea / Suggestion
We all have signatures over in the forum. You can use yours to share what instruments you play, if you sing or have audio engineering skills. You can also list what names you use or have used at other forums if you’re using a different one here so that people recognize you.

ISSUE TO REPORT (for me to follow up on; I’m just using this GROUP to keep track of issues)
While we can embed media like SoundCloud audio in the GROUPS section, I was unable to embed a SoundCloud file in the Forums.

Some quick minor feedback. The ‘Edit’ and ‘Share’ buttons appears to be vertically misaligned – I’d post a screenshot, but I either can’t or don’t know how to. After clicking ‘Edit’, the ‘Cancel’ and ‘Save’ buttons that replace it are also vertically misaligned. I’m using Edge on Desktop.

Yep. It’s the same on Chrome on Windows and Android and I knew this after I install it, it’s just that I couldn’t find an alternative plugin, so I accepted it. Hmmmm- I just checked in on CW and found a few locked threads of “Livingroom Rocker” Looks like he is running some scripts that get carried away. Oh well- I am enjoying the adventure here in our new digs. Still occasionally opening the wrong door when I am looking for the bathroom, but I will get the hang of it soon enough.

Ha! I visited the Cakewalk Forums (via Chrome Incognito) and saw those posts. They’re extremely robotic — like a bot. There’s no sign of a real person making those posts. It actually wasn’t a bot though maybe it was a human using a script. pwalpwal called Living Room Rocker out on all the PluginBoutique posts he was doing and he responded like a human might. It was getting pretty toxic at one point. Looks like Wookie cleaned up the mess.

Yep. That seems to have happened when I turned off a plugin that did a lot of different things at the site, but caused the messages to not work. I’m going to get a screenshot to the theme developer today.

Looking already really good, Peter.
Some corrections to be made to the ‘iPhone’ look, like having to look for the Post button, but not much. Most is fine.
One thing I would suggest is having more posts on a (Deals) page. Actually, the Cake forum is a very good example of that. Almost no clutter, while having a neat overview of all the threads.-
Also, would be good to see the number of (new) posts a thread has in the ‘overview’ forum pages.

I want this GROUP to be the place where everyone in the EARLY ADOPTERS GROUP can share our thoughts on the site, positive and negative, feedback is really important, post any questions and report any issues you come across.

I previously had the ability to make sticky posts, but had to shelve it — at least temporarily — due to the fact that it stopped messages from working. That’s also the reason that the design of many parts of the site have changed. I turned off that functionality until it can be fixed.

If you notice that some of the design went away, that’s because I just de-activated a plugin that was responsible for that formatting. I found that it caused the personal messaging to stop working and am contacting that developer to see if there’s a fix. Consequently, messaging now works.

1) I was messing with my profile and I guess I figured out how to add info fields. I made a date field but I can’t seem to delete it.
2) The email notification settings have slide buttons but it is not clear to me which position relates to “email or no-email”

Thanks for the update. I caught a major problem with the messaging that I was able to resolve. But the site design will look a bit different as a result. It’s a plugin from a different developer than the one I’ve been working with, and I’ll be putting in a request to see if we can get it fixed. The plugin added a lot of functionality.
