Essential Six is a collection of synth patches from a Sequential Circuits Six-Trak and it’s absolutely vintage synth heaven. The developer has other sample libraries on our best list, and frankly, I’m a fan of his work. If you haven’t picked up his Festive Celeste, I strongly recommend that you do that. He clearly put a lot of work into this instrument; it’s not simply a series of patches dumped into Kontakt. There are 18 custom-programmed patches with 2 full-featured voice channels, customizable filters and FX suite – it has a drift knob and an arpeggiator. He offers a paid version, but I find that he did this right. This doesn’t feel, in any way, cut down. If you love this — and I think it’s pretty easy for a vintage synth fan to love this — the developer has earned our consideration.
Format: Kontakt Player
Elysion Elements from Sonuscore is a collection of synth patches that delivers a lush, cinematic soundscape with vintage analog synths but with a modern atmospheric twist. It offers 30 “themes” consisting of four theme types: animated, pads, hits, and pulses. It includes arpeggiator patterns, envelopes, a pan engine, and a mixer — all of which are editable. The patches have a very strong 70s/80s sci-fi vibe. The library offers 30 themes covering animated, pads, hits, and pulses. It includes arpeggios, envelopes, a pan engine and a mixer — and all are editable.
Whether you need a low, brooding bass drone for a sci-fi thriller, a glowing synth lead reminiscent of retro synthwave, or dynamic, moving arpeggios for space exploration tracks, Elysion Elements provides a versatile toolkit of rich, playable textures. I think those really into synths will love it, but of course, not everyone is looking for that sci-fi sound, so I think it’s appeal is more limited. But this is a genuinely very usable free library if you’re looking for sci-fi style synth patches and the editability of those sounds is great.
