Fracture Sounds: Blueprint Electric KeysHands down, this is my pick for the best free sampled electric piano that I’ve heard to date. It’s a beautiful, 1969 Rhodes Mark I Electric Piano library that’s good enough to be a paid library. It allows you to adjust the key noise. It doesn’t have a bunch of presets, but it lets you choose between direct input and amped and has controls for stereo spread, reverb, chorus, and atmosphere. It’s pretty obvious to see the developer’s rationale for giving this away free. Once you use it, you’ll be interested in their other libraries.

Fracture Sounds Blueprint: Wurli Electric PianoFew sampled Wurly instruments capture the clank of the felt-tipped hammers striking the metal reeds very well; Fracture Sounds nailed it. It’s lacking when it comes to the bite of a real Wurly, but overall, this is a lovely sampled Wurlitzer electric piano library.

Wonder Rhodes
The Wonder Rhodes is a carefully sampled 1976 Rhodes Mark I (Stage 73) with 73 keys and four velocities per note. It doesn’t have much bite to it, but what it does have is a very sweet tone.
Full Version of Kontakt Required.

Soniokinetic EMP Electromechanical Piano
A Rhodes Mark II Electric Piano. This is a decent sounding electric piano, that has a very lofi vibe to it. It’s tone is not as pleasing as some of the other choices below, like my favorite free electric piano, Fracture Sounds: Blueprint Electric Keys, but that’s a different model Rhodes, so if you want to have a larger palate of electric pianos, give this a try. It is compatible with the free Kontakt Player, so you don’t need to own the full version of Kontakt to enjoy it.

ETI RhodesA very detailed 1980 Rhodes MKII electric piano sample library (5,790 samples) available for Kontakt (full version required).
Fracture Sounds Blueprint ClavinetI love the Clavinet — when Stevie Wonder is playing it. If you distort them, they sound really good. Five tone settings. Reverb, chorus, and other effect settings. Direct input and amped.
RMI RocksichordAll 12 original stops from an RMI Rocksichord — the electric piano featured on classics by Genesis, Dr. John, The Beach Boys, John Lennon, Sun Ra, Wilco and others.
Production Voices Electric V LE – Production Voices Pay What You Want (PWYW) Min. $1
The Production Voices Electric V LE for the free sforzando player is a 1984 Rhodes electric piano with 12 velocities per note, and 17 presets. it has a lot of detail. While it’s not exactly free, you can pick it up for as little as $1, and we think it’s well worth the price.
This is a video for the full version, but it will give you a good idea about the tone of the library.
