On Kirean saidHeya,
Especially with deals, there might be discussion of a deal after the deal has already ended. Currently the thread/post list of the forum shows only when the last reply was posted.
Thus, would it be possible to have “Posted on” date/time next to the “started by: <nickname>” (so started by nickname on 00/00/00) or elsewhere where it could be easily added without too much of a hassle.
I agree with you on this function. I personally have wanted it from the beginning.
What I found researching it is that it would take custom coding (there aren’t any plugins available that do that — as simple as I’m sure you and I agree that feature is), although I doubt it would cost much, I would guess I could get someone to do it for a couple hundred dollars based on a thread on the forum platform developer’s site. There’s a script that seems like it could do the job with some adaptation (I’m not comfortable with tweaking scripts and have already exceeded my budget for the site). So, what I can do is keep my eyes open to see if there are any other plugins that either (1) me and the one of the platform developers are not aware of, or (2) the site can bring in enough revenue or contributions where I can pay someone to add this functionality.
I’ve posted this before, I know we have developers here. If anyone has experience coding for WordPress and bbPress and is open to pitching in or can work for a reasonable rate, please contact me (I’ve avoided stating the platforms I’m using previously because I don’t want it spidered and indexed in search engines; however, I’ve since hidden this Forum from public view, so I’m comfortable sharing that in this section of the site).
Now here’s what I believe would be the optimal solution for this — that everyone formats topics to include the END DATE of a sale (if available, if not list the date when the sale was posted). What do you think of that idea?
