The Fall Of Our Kind
Intro:
Verse 1:
In the shadows of the city
Concrete meets the sky
A super symphony of progress
Where humanity starts to die
Verse 2:
Neon lights and flashing screens
We’re blinded by the globe
Lost in a digital dream
As our souls begin to erode
Chorus:
The fall of our kind
With our new elected we’re left behind
All of our kind, we must fall
And we’ll leave all that behind
Leave ourselves behind
Verse 3:
We were born to be wild
Now we’re just caged animals
But the concrete city
Answer to the cold winds cattle call
Oh ooh ooooh
Repeat Chorus:
Guitar Solo:
Repeat Verse 2 as Bridge:
Repeat Chorus x 2:
Keys solo:

Cool! So, now he’s got a drum sound he likes. Ed, were you guys working completely with mic’ed acoustic drums or do you mix in samples with that to beef it up? Believe it or not, back even in the late 80s to early 90s, playing around the midwest, playing mid-size venues and colleges, our live sound engineers were mixing my acoustic drums with an Emulator and Roland drum samples on the snare and bass drum. I still have my Roland electronic drum kit — but I only used the drum brain live with triggers not the electronic pads.

Check out my music.
@peter All live drums mic’d, no samples added. Just processing.

This is some good stuff, Bapu (and thanks for posting it on my lovely wife’s birthday, lol).
It’s got that “end of the ’80s, right on the cusp of the ’90s” kinda’ vibe. The subject matter is pretty… “apocalyptic” – and I love stuff like that.
It’s got the right synth to guitar ratio, and the drums hold the whole thing together like a good dollop of Titebond III (woodworker’s joke there).
The vocals reminded me of a lot of Christian “new wave” music I was listening to in the late ’80s. That’s neither a criticism or a commendation. ‘Tis what ’tis, I guess. 🙂
Good job, good sir – a fine collaborative effort!
