I’ve settled on a name for these updates — which can only be seen by our registered members, “State of LinkedMusicians.” The below data is derived from our website analytics report for the past 28 days.

SUMMARY:
LinkedMusicians.com is showing encouraging growth and the latest analytics reports help with better understanding the types of content that drive the highest levels of engagement. While our growth is far from the site “going viral” — which was never expected — it is solid, healthy and very encouraging growth on every level.

Avg Visit Length: 5m 43s
Visits per visitor are Up 30%.
Returning visitors are Up 21%.
Returning visitors are Up with an average 16 visits per month.
Unique visitors from search engines are Up 46%.
Total new visitors are Up 18% for this period.

Pages per visit are Up 31%
Total pageviews are Up 104%
Top pages that bring in new visitors are:
– the deals forum home page.
– the free Kontakt library list.
– the thread about BestService.com being down (while it’s only been up for the past several days over this 28 day period, it’s drawing in a good deal of traffic from new visitors, especially from search).

We proudly remain a very geographically diverse group, with no single country making up 30% or more of our total traffic. Geographically, the UK is responsible for our greatest number of new visits.

68% of our visitors view the site on a desktop computer, while 29% view the site on a mobile device. ​ ​

There’s no more important path to growth than our members telling others about the site and our content. I provide these updates to the community because this site is all about the community. I felt like “business was ramping up” lately.  It’s nice to see it quantified.

In addition to the Deals posted at LinkedMusicians, our curated best of lists are big draws to the site, and they’re doing really well for a site that is less than one year old. I didn’t expcect us to rank as well as we do at Google and getting mentions at ChatGPT and other AI sites as well as we do at this point (Google can ignore a site in a competitive category for a couple of years or worse; but LM started ranking very soon after it launched; that was the main reason that I kept the site public during the beta). For example, the highest volume search related to free kontakt sample libraries is the phrase “free kontakt instruments.” LinkedMusicians presently ranks at number 14 (page two) in the US (your results will very depending on if you have personalized results and your geographical location). Further, AI tools like ChatGPT state that there is no other curated list of Kontakt sample libraries as extensive as LinkedMusicians Best Free Kontakt Instruments List.

I’m working on other content that is highly shareable/recommendable. The real challenge is to get our former Cakewalkers to enjoy this content. Much like at the Cakewalk Deals Forum, these users tend to only spend time at the deals forum and nothing else. I have something planned to help make them aware of other content I believe they will enjoy. I have a kind of on site column — like a newspaper column — with the working title, “Beyond the Deals Forum.” I want to make it a fun way to learn about the content what we have to offer beyond deals. The premise is simple, most of us love great deals on music-related gear. But our interests start with our love for music, and  we have a lot of great content here that everyone making music will enjoy that most of our community isn’t aware of. It’s my goal to make everyone more aware of that content.
