That’s awesome.
I recently wrote a power pop rock song (okay, I wrote most of it and need to finish it) I think is pretty good. I hope to record it and share it here later this month offering anyone who wants to replace my guitar, bass, keyboards or vocals with theirs to do so. I figure that way, people can hear the song first and decide if it’s something they like or not before committing. But I’m not sure how to go about the technical side of things — the sharing of files — and can use your advice. Of course, when I put it up, I’d be honored if you or anyone else here listened and considered collaborating.
In the past 3 years, since attempting to play music again (20+ years after tendinitis stopped me from playing / performing), I’ve only collaborated with two people, Greg Schlaepfer — largely the person responsible for pushing me to attempt to play music again (I would never have approached him to collaborate, as I can barely play anymore; he encouraged me and that led me to finishing a recording and accepting the level I could play at is never going to be what it once was instead of saying, “forget this, because I will never even play at a decent level again” which was my former mindset) — and a rapper out of the UK and really enjoyed both experiences. How do you (technically) handle the DAW/file end of things when collaborating?
