I tend to think that there’s a huge line between using generative AI to create music (with apps such as Suno) and using assistive AI. I personally would never choose to use generative AI because I love the creative process of writing songs and recording. I have used AI tools for assistance with lyric writing and also mastering. Lyric writing is my nemesis, and I never simply copy & paste what it suggests, but it helps my thinking. In terms of mastering, I use an iZotope plug-in which I’ve found really helpful in terms of being the “glue” at the end of the recording process.
