What have you actually learned from your influences?
We can all list the artists we’ve been influenced by, but I think it’s more interesting to list the things you’ve actually taken from them.

@peter that’s not surprising considering we had a lot of the same inputs (WXRT, WLUP, etc)
My daughter loves “Stranger Things”. I used that as an excuse to get her to listen to Peter Gabriel by way of “Don’t Give Up”. Or any time a Tik Tok features a song from my time, I’ll play other stuff by that artist.

I tried a lot of DAWS in days of the Cakewalk/Gibson bankruptcy. There were a lot of things I liked about that Studio One, but editing was really awkward for me.
