Thanks Peter for letting me join the community.
I live in Sweden and started with piano at the age of 9 and guitar a few years later. I wouldn’t consider myself as a musician. My thrill is the creative process musically more than lyrics. I sing some times but Melodyne is a must :-). I started using a DAW, Cakewalk 1.2 or something in 2004. I quit music making for some years due to hearing loss of the right ear but had a successful surgery which got me back “in business”. I am retired and nowadays have more time for music. Audio engineering has become more important as good sound quality provides greater music enjoyment. I have watched countless hours of youtube clips and bought too many compressors, equalizers, reverbs…still my workflow is far from satisfactory. The same goes for configuring synth sounds. It is said the music you listen to during your teens is closest to your heart. It’s certainly true for me but I try to listen to all sorts of genres e g EDM and have even tried to make such music. Definately the music of the Beatles, Brian Wilson, Paul Simon and Bob Dylan has had a great impact as has Bach. My music making is pure hobby. I had one song played on a national radio station and got 50 dollars or something – ha, ha. As we all, I like when people listen to my tunes and leave some encouraging comments. That’s all the payment I need. Still, I think the creative process is the most rewarding part of it all and I have no other goals.
Greetings!
Mikael
