That’s an excellent question, and I’d love to hear from people who own these plugins. Eventually, as this community grows, user reviews are going to be a significant part of the site, so we can easily all tap into the knowledge of our fellow community members, and be LESS RELIANT on influencers and other very biased sources. That’s what happens when someone who is known globally for leading digital marketing takes on a passion project to remove the bias of money and marketing from this information. Heck, marketing communications — a HUGE part of my professional expertise — and you can read interviews with me in business and marketing magazines, on this topic — is getting into the minds of consumers to persuade them to purchase a brand. Influencers are paid for their ability to persuade people to buy. Influencers are welcome here, as long as they are labeled as influencers. However, when it comes to rating and reviewing products and services, influencers, developers and their employees will NOT be allowed to vote, only uncompensated purchasers will be allowed to vote. They’re biased. They’re just paid /commissioned salespeople by another name, they aren’t legit reviewers, they are salespeople and nothing less than salespeople.

I know a bunch of them. I’ve had a number of conversations with heavy hitters like Venus Theory, but anyone who is under the mistaken impression that developers are paying him $20k+ to “review” their products looking for an honest legit review they are fantastically unaware of how influencer marketing works.  Influencers are paid to promote products and services, period. That is their business.
