If you have it, Komplete Standard is only $200 (Kontakt 8, Massive X, Guitar Rig 7 Pro and Battery alone are so worth it).

Now that I have lots more of experience, to me neither Ultimate or Collector are worth it.

If you need an orchestra, Cubase 14 Elements has Iconica Sketch and it sounds marvelous. (Halion library, which can be loaded in any DAW).

I will probably get Standard and the Icon Bass.

You bring up a good point, @lastcall. Upgrade pricing for people who don’t own the full version of Kontakt.I know that NI no longer provides upgrade pricing just for having a free Kontakt Player instrument as it appears they once did. On the NI site, it states, “”The free KONTAKT PLAYER alone does not qualify. You also need to have a qualifying third-party sample library installed and activated on your NI account.” Here’s the list of qualifying NI libraries:
