I have Superior Drummer 3 but never really got into it, more hassle than I have patience for. Probably wouldn’t be the case if invested the time to get past the learning curve but I’ve got too many learning curves in my life right now.

 

One of my friends — I’m not totally certain which one — told me really great things about XO back when it came out. I should look into it. It seems like everyone who has it has good things to say about it. I absolutely love SD3 — it’s perfect for me in every sense, except for the pricing. But AD2 is my second favorite drum plugin. I’m hoping that XLN comes out with a killer AD3 soon and creates some serious competition for Toontrack. Back when Steven was starting out, we had a call (consultation) and he gave me an NFR of the first version of SSD, but I actually didn’t even have a DAW PC at the time, and by the time I did, it didn’t seem to play very nice with the current version of Kontakt. But it seemed a lot more geared toward more high-energy rock than I do. I suppose, before I invite Steven over here, I should pick up the latest version of SSD. I’m just so hooked into the SD3 and AD2 ecosystem, it’s hard to switch to a new drum ecosystem. Between the learning curve and the fact that I now have hundreds of drums and cymbals fo SD3 and AD2, it’s compelling to want to stay the course.
