🆓 More Than 300 Excellent Kontakt Sample Libraries – FREE

I just added several new Kontakt libraries to the LinkedMusicians list of Best Free Kontakt Instruments — all of them compatible with the FREE Kontakt Player (that is, all of the ones I’ve just added, not everything on the list; I’m increasingly finding that Kontakt developers are releasing free libraries that are compatible with the free Kontakt Player, which I think is great news, as it makes them available to everyone, regardless if they own Kontakt or not).

You can get email updates whenever I update the list by subscribing to the related thread in the Free Sample Libraries subforum. It’s one of this site’s most visited pages— but it primarily gets traffic from outside of our registered member group. That’s why I’m posting about it in the deals forum. Check it out.

Click on the link and go to the page with the topic (AKA thread)…wait, it seems the subscription option disappeared. I updated the plugin that handles that last week, it commonly ends up downgrading all the moderators, but this time it looks like it also took away the subscription option. It’s normally on the upper right hand of each topic page. I’m in the middle of making dinner at the moment (yeah, another TMI post!), but I’ll get it back tonight and update this post and send you a PM. Thanks for making me aware of this, @doug.

Okay, I just spent an hour trying to fix this, and I can see that I’m going to need to spend more time. I have a magazine interview (answering the questions electronically– with Forbes; it’s related to marketing and my business) to complete tonight. I might have time tomorrow night, if not Wednesday. I will get it done. The subscriptions are a really important feature for the site. I can see the existing subscriptions are working, the plugin just won’t allow me to add the subscription option back.

@doug The ability to subscribe to any forum or subforum and get email alerts when new comments are posted has been restored. So you can subscribe to the Best Free Kontakt Instruments thread and be alerted when new free Kontakt libraries are added — and I added several really nice ones this week. When I find out about a new free library, I write a note for myself, and later download, install, and audition it. If I think it’s recommendation-worthy, I add it to the list.

I auditioned several Kontakt libraries this week that didn’t make the cut and there are still a few that I’m thinking over. As with the entire site, the priority is always quality over quantity. There a lot of freebie lists out there — and they’re largely done to try to game Google. While I wrote the page strongly considering SEO, the priority was to make the list have only excellent libraries, because I knew that if I could keep it JUST excellent quality libraries and no mediocre ones, that it would be a lot more valuable than the existing lists.
