I own the original version of this (Kontakt full version) library. I think I got it for free when the developer first introduced it, then he began charging as much as $129 US for it. And now the developer is again giving it away free again.

Big Fish sells what appears to be the same library with a different GUI for $129 US.  The developer lists this regular price of this library at his site at $79 US. A couple of years ago AudioPluginDeals sold it for $29 US.

It’s a Kontakt full version viola legato library with an extended range. It has a very distinctive sound. It will never be your go to viola library. It is slightly out of tune. There are imperfections in the recordings — you can hear a click in at least one sample and there’s no round robin, because each time you play that note you hear the identical click. Still, there is a charm to this library that I think makes it worth having, especially for free. Okay, I suppose because I’m a perfectionist, I can’t help but also point out that the legato transitions don’t seem perfectly smooth to me and there seems to only be one translation, so it doesn’t work very well for fast runs. But again, it’s all relative. For a paid library, I would be disappoined . But for a freebie, I think it’s a no-brainer. I’d suggest going to the developer’s site and lsitening to the audio demos. If you like what you here, download it. The developer doesn’t specify how long he’ll be gving this away free.
