I finally had a chance to begin installing Pianoverse MAX this morning. I need to install a new SSD, but in the meantime, I put Pianoverse MAX — well I’ve only downloaded and installed one piano — on an external hard drive.  My two favorite virtual pianos are (1) NI Noire, (2) Orange Tree Samples Evolution Rosewood Grand and I only installed Hamburg Grand S274 and I absolutely love it. It’s easily made it into the top 3 and I absolutely love the user interface and presets. This is beyond my expectations. Sampletank pianos are a far step below Kontakt pianos, but Pianoverse is a completely different league. This virtual piano is top-tier. You can do a trial on the pianos and I highly recommend it.

I honestly played it until I was in pain from tendinitis and now I need to take a break from the computer before I have an injury. But I am like a kid with a new toy. Highly recommended.

I saw his dad twice at a local night club back in the 1980s. The first night, I was with a musician (guitarist) friend. Near the end of the show Rick Wakeman announced that he was going to do a surprise second show the following night.  So, I treated my mother, pro musician and music teacher (my first music teacher, for piano, I went to another for organ, and then 5 others for drums between childhood and adulthood between private and public school band directors), and an extremely talented pianist and organist (she went to college for classical piano and organ performance and extensively studied Chopin). Unfortunately, Rick Wakeman was extremely drunk and made a lot of mistakes during the show. But my mother still was impressed at how talented he was and turned to me and said, “He has to be the best rock pianist/organist today outside of Keith Emerson.”

Oliver has a lot of his dad in his playing — which is a very good thing, IMO. Thanks for sharing,  @patrickwichrowski. I watched it from start to finish and enjoyed his playing.

As I finally was able to spend some time with Pianoverse Max this weekend and am blown away by it — definitely in that period of finding a new favorite virtual instrument that inspires me, I wanted to share this review. I feel it doesn’t even do the line justice. But it’s a very good and realistic review that is worthwhile if you’re researching this. But again, my strongest recommendation is that if you’re interested, download a trial and play it for yourself.
