      TL; DR VERSION

After being interested in this plugin since it went on sale for $9 — I posted the sale a little while back — I started researching it over time. I told myself that I wouldn’t buy it unless I could find a discount code that made it irresistible. Well, I just spent some time searching and trying discount codes, and yes, when I found one that brought the price down to $6.30, I immediately hit the buy button. Jump to the link to the developer’s site at the bottom of this post and you’ll find the discount code if you prefer to not read about my research process (which shows you what I learned).

      THE RESEARCH PROCESS

I started with a Sound on Sound review, because, well, influencers are paid promoters. The only hope we have of honest reviews are with legitimate journalists, and in this industry, Sound on Sound is the truest to journalistic principles. Here’s a link to the SoundonSound review. I’ll just quote the final paragraph:

“Describing something as sounding ‘musical’ is a somewhat overused adjective, but in this case it’s absolutely apt. Analog Drift is easy to use, and can handle all the usual delay treatments, but it adds a few surprises of its own that add greatly to its creative potential and have already earned it a place in my ‘favourites’ plug‑in folder. ”

      https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/phantom-sounds-analog-drift

These two influencer videos gave me a good idea of the sound of the plugin when used with guitars and an electric piano. I especially like the chorus effect on Analog Drift.

Analog Drift on an electric guitar with various settings for around 20 minutes with no talking.

I realize that a lot of you think that big time endorsers are meaningless, but I disagree. This is a small developer that doesn’t have the money to shell out big money to influencers. Yes, they might spend a little money with micro influencers, but that’s not going to get a big name producer or engineer to give them an endorsement. My experience is that heavy-hitter producers and engineers that give testimonials to small developers really like the products. And this developer has some heavy-hitter endorsers for the plugin, for example:

Analog Drift is a great new addition to my delay arsenal. It’s super easy to use and extremely vibey. The 3 different models make it versatile and it sounds great, well done Phantom Sounds!

      – Rik Simpson –
Multi Grammy Award-winning record producer (Coldplay, Jay-Z, Portishead, PJ Harvey)

Use the discount code PHANTOMWELCOME to bring the price down from the sale price of $9 to $6.30. There is a trial version available at the below link too, so you may want to check that out first. And, for anyone who checks this out, I’d love to get your thoughts in this thread. That said, I have no idea how long this sale or the discount code will last, so you probably want to act fast on a deal this good. I don’t even know if the developer intended this coupon code to work on this sale price or not. You won’t find any other forum, group, or blog mentioning this deal — at least i didn’t after some intensive searches. So, if you see a deal pop up with it after this post, you know who had it first.

          Haha! You troublemaker! 😉

To answer your question, I’m very happy with Analog Drift. I spent around 20 minutes or so trying it on electric pianos, electric guitars, synths, and acoustic drums (I generally don’t love delays on drums, but I did find one preset that’s a keeper). I found a number of presets that I really like and find not only usable, but inspiring.

I easily have two dozen delay plugins (and one rack mount from back in the day!) and Analog Drift definitely has a place in my plugins folder and is easily one of my favorite delay plugins.

For $6.30, I think it was a no-brainer purchase. But like anything with a trial version, I strongly recommend that everyone install the trial version before makingthe decision to buy it, as we all have different taste.

@mrfigg Have you done the trial of Analog Drift? If not, you have to! And then share your thoughts. Again, I realize this stop is very subjective, but I love it and I rarely use delays.
