If I would have known I could have crossgraded from my ancient version of Sonar X2 to this, I would have saved more than $80. Just a heads up to everyone else who once used the original Cakewalk Sonar, if you just send in a screenshot showing your license, you can pick up a license of PreSonus Studio Pro 7 at the crossgrade price, and I think it’s rather clear that Studio Pro 7 is far superior to Cakewalk Sonar, and it’s for less than $95 for a full version pereptual license. For current users of the full version of Sonar subscription version, either paying the full price of $179 per year or $70 for the first year and seeing it auto renew subsequent years at $179 per year, it is your opportunity to own the software you use and save substantially. If you only upgrade every three years, compare the cost:

Cakewalk Sonar (paid subscription with the first year at the promo rate) – 3 Years: $428

PreSonus Studio Pro 7 – 3 Years: $94.50

PreSonus Studio Pro 7 is a more advanced DAW than Cakewalk Sonar, it’s far superior and you’ll be able to open all of your files 3 years or even several years from now without having to pay a subscription fee. Even the vast majority of influencers have bailed on Cakewalk Sonar to the point where not even a significant micro influencer is doing videos about it. The majority of plugin makers are not testing Sonar when they test DAWs. Many of us used it years ago, long before BandLab bought it and did minor tweaks.
