I just wanted to give a little insight about my posting plan to ensure that we get the same quantity and quality of Black Friday Deals we would have had if cclarry were posting. I realize that ensuring our deals forum is second to none is critical to this community and I am committed to making our deals forum delivers this Black Friday season.
I also wanted to give a heads up that my style is a little different and that’s intentional, in order to ensure that I can effectively manage this work, deliver it at the level we have become accustomed to, manage my other responsibilities with the site, manage my business, and have some balance with my family life. I can promise the same quantity and quality of deals, but I will be posting them more in spurts. For example, I might save up several hours of deals and post them all in 30 minutes instead of spending my entire day watching my emails and posting as they come.
Here is the basic process I have for ensuring that we’re posting all of the relevant deals for our community and not missing anything (it is basically just what cclarry was doing before me, but I’m posting more in spurts and not spending all day waiting for emails to come or Facebook and subreddit posts to be made; I’m looking at certain times of day and posting everything that’s there that is relevant).
(1) Subscribing to the various developer emails (in the future, I’m looking into the possibility of automating things)
(2) Subscribing to various plugin and sample library deals groups to ensure we have everything they’ve posted and posting anything we’ve missed.
I would welcome anyone else who would like to take this over and become the deal guru. I can train you to do it just as I’m doing so that it is as efficient as possible and doesn’t consume your life.
Your friend who keeps the beat. I suppose I'm also the chef at this place.
