APD Has a Deal on Muze – I Recommend Against Buying It

I don’t ever recall seeing a savvy sample user making a positive post about Muze. But I have seen A LOT of very disappointed Muze customers across multiple sites and I have picked up several Muze Kontakt libraries and found each to be surprisingly bloated and low quality. For example, piano sample libraries that clearly didn’t have many velocity layers, but were bloated in a way that felt very artificial, done only to create the appearance that the libraries are substantial when they didn’t even appear to have every single piano key sampled in every octave. This was the case with each of the several Muzio sample libraries I picked up — they were libraries they sold that were limited time deals for very cheap or free. All of them were so below the standard of good or even average quality Kontakt libraries that I gladly deleted all of them from my drives.

When I personally find a sample library or plugin to be of poor quality or if I have seen an abundance of posts from numerous unhappy customers reporting the same issues, I either (1) do not post the deal, or (2) post the deal and share what I know about the product.

This may damage the relationship I have with Audio Plugin Deals. If so, I can live with that. I will not change my values. I don’t want our community members to change their values. Other forums can post deals like this, which most of them know are of poor quality, and fail to warn people due to affiliate commissions or frequent deal posters on third-party sites who receive NFRs and cash from shops. I won’t do it. That isn’t the way I operate or the way I will operate LinkedMusicians. And once again, a reminder, if any of our members have a sample library, plugin, DAW or other product we cover here, I want you to share your honest experiences and thoughts on it and never be concerned about doing so. We may be one of the only communities where you can do that about ANY developer, ANY retailer, and ANY manufacturer, regardless if LInkedMusicians or I (Peter) have a relationship with them. Honest businesses are not going to silence customers, including those sharing less than favorable opinions and experiences. But the truth is, a number of them do.
