      @magicruss

There are a lot of bundles out there which provide excellent VFM.  Even so, even if something is a good buy (even a no brainer), not everything is awesome.  And there are a few things that might not sell the product but have been well worth it.

So let’s see your take on what is killer, what is filler, and what is a hidden gem.

I’ll start with Komplete (standard version)

      Killer:

      • Absynth (for older versions)
      • Battery
      • Kontakt
      • Massive X
      • Reaktor
      • Most of the effects
      • Abbey Roads 60s Drums (my choice for neo-soul)
      • Session Guitarist Acoustic library series

      Filler

      • Vast majority of the Play series.  Most of them seem to cover sounds that you already have or could get fairly easily using the other instruments in Komplete and adding some effects.
      • Leap expansions for Kontakt.
      • Most of the Expansions.  There is some good content in each, but they are somewhat unwieldy if you don’t have Maschine.
      • OG Massive.

      Hidden Gems

      • Playbox.  This is a Kontakt library which is a good idea generator when you are looking for something different.
      • Play Series: Deft Lines and Nacht.  I think “Deft Lines” was originally intended for Grime, but they both work well for industrial and dark soundtracks.
      • Play Series: Modular Icons.  Somehow I managed to find a few good sounds in this one.

Of course there are so many things even in the standard version that fall under the header of “one man’s killer is someone else’s filler”.  The Spotlight series is a good example – I’m sure there are a lot of people who love the West Africa series and a lot who will never touch it.

There are also a few products that are pretty good but I found better products for.  For example I used the Scarbee Rickenbacker a lot, but now I tend to use MODO for that.
