DROP has a simple drag n drop synth engine that contains a sample layer and a granular layer. Presets have 2 Layers and you can load patches in up to 16 slots that can be used multi-timbral or layered by assigning patches to the same midi channel. The main concept behind its design is to provide you with a “Main Page” that provides all the functionality you would reach for during composing or performing.

This has been out for around a decade and has been on our list of best free sample libraries since the site launch — and at Cakewalk Forums before that. I really like this developer and I’d recommend picking up all of their freebies. REVOLUTION-CRE8 LITE, which has reverse samples, is my favorite. But this isn’t a sampler, it’s a sample library with a granular synth engine that uses the free sample player, Halion Sonic SE. From the linked page:
