So @mibby, I suppose that qualifies as your recommendation? I thought these sounded really good, but I definitely would defer to your more knowledgeable opinion on mixing plugins.

Let’s see:

VCL-864U – Michael Brauer uses/used this one. I had to buy it so I could mix like him. Barely used it so far but looking forward to digging in.

Flywheel and VCL-4 both sound really good to me. Flywheel is nicer on the cpu than a lot of other tape emus I’ve tried.

Just got the DrumsSSX hoping to have found a secret weapon for dealing with bleed on acoustic kits. A few quick tries and it sounded “ok”, but I need to spend more time and try other material to see if it will work out. A little cpu heavy for multiple instances.

VSC-1 – I have been thinking about this one for while and just couldn’t pass up paying $15 for yet another channel strip I think will be great but never use.

VCL-25A – I have to say this is my current favorite and is on my parallel vocal for warmth and density.

Just one guy’s observations.   🙂    I have a few others too…

I’ve been running OCELOT Limiter through its paces and love that it’s low latency, and has a delta and 1:1 to help hear what it’s doing when engaged.

I’m on macOS and the VST3 seems to be reporting zero latency which is incorrect when tested against the VST2 and AU versions which are reporting 68 samples/1.4ms of latency

The VST3 also seems to be crashing in Ableton 11, especially when adding 2 instances of it.

I’ve messaged Fuse Audio Labs support about these issues and Reimund replied soon after so a fix should be rolled out soon!

Once these are ironed out I think it’ll be on my master while I’m creating because it’s so low latency!
