Yep, that’s correct. It’s a typo in the original post (I’m pretty sure made by yours truly). @satya resend the email with the email address info@blackroosteraudio.com.
Thanks, @lamia6!

On October 28, 2025 at 3:18 am musicman saidThis is a great freebie by them. I don’t actually own the Halloween version, just the regular, but it’s very underrated and I really like the sound of it. I’m half tempted to leave a review and grab it anyway, although it doesn’t really add much from what I gather.
I completely agree. I think Black Rooster Audio is a really talented developer. I’m on my laptop at the moment, not near my DAW PC, but I only have the Halloween Edition and I’m guessing that the presets are one of the differences between the two version. The presets in the Halloween Edition play to the Halloween theme, so I would expect that the paid edition has more practical presets. This is from Google’s AI, so who knows how reliable it is, but this is the response when I searched on the differences in the two versions:
The main differences are the addition of two new features, a CRANK multiplicator and a High-Pass Frequency control, plus a new “spooky” design. The Halloween Edition allows for a higher gain, up to 5x, with the CRANK knob and offers more control over mud and rumble in a signal using the new high-pass filter. The core sound and emulation of the original VPRE-73 remain the same.
New features in the Halloween EditionCRANK multiplicator:
Increases the input volume of the gain stages by up to five times for “bone-rattling tones”.
High-Pass Frequency control:
Allows you to shape the processed signal by controlling and filtering out mud and rumble.
Spooky design:
The user interface has a new, darker, and “spine-chilling” look for the fall season.
Core functionality (identical to the regular version)
Authentic emulation: Both versions faithfully model the discrete preamp circuitry and audio transformers of the original hardware.
High-shelf filter: Both versions include the famous high-shelf filter band for adding presence and sheen.
Core controls: Both versions have a gain knob, a trim knob, and other standard features.

My honest review:

The TD-201 is a little difficult to adjust because os this lack of knob information. Why this is important in this analog emulation? Because when the knobs seems to not respond like the real hardware, is important to know where the real half / minimum / full are.

I think you make a great point, Patrick. I hope the developer listens to your input and incorporates your suggestions in a future update.
