I absolutely love PianoVerse. If it were only PianoVerse Royal Upright Y5 and nothing else for $15, I would give this a very strong recommendation and call it a pro-brainer. But considering a MODO Bass title, MODO Drum — even without the other libraries, starting at $15, this is clearly in PRO-BRAINER (that’s upper case, because I’m shouting!) territory. For anyone looking for an excellent, high-end virtual acoustic piano, for $15 (the bundles go higher, that’s where it starts to get the upright piano, you also get the Yamaha Grand Piano Y7 in the $30 bundle), this is an insanely great deal.

I’m particularly glad to see Peter from IK posting here.  On another music forum he regularly took a lot of abuse, but to me he always seemed like a good guy who was genuinely trying to help.  Anyway, Peter-IK, glad you’re here and thanks for posting.

Peter and I have been friends before Peter took a marketing job and started working for IK.He is a good guy.

Hmmm…it does seem like I’m saying Peter has more cred because he wasn’t always a marketer. Peter was on the technology side, but worked for a company that made software used by marketers. His educational background includes a degree from Berklee School of Music and training from Juilliard. My pre-marketing professional background includes being a musician, photographer and photo lab technician. I also did a newspaper column on new businesses. Although my marketing background includes a lot of strategy work that most people wouldn’t even realize is part of marketing and a lot of publication work — like launching, helping write and edit dozens of publications on political risk (covering things like unstable political regimes and political extremist groups) and terrorism risk — working with a team that advised on the US Dept of Homeland Security and had two employees on the advisory board. Not what most people think of when they think of marketing. But then, I also advised Unilever on marketing their mayonnaise brand online — which is more like what most people think of when they hear the word marketing. Some of the folks in marketing do have good ethics — and I know that Peter is one of them.
