A little over a month ago, Jay Graydon started a YouTube channel to share his engineering/mixing knowledge, plus throw in some cool behind-the-scenes stories along the way.

There’s already a bunch of videos on his channel, and it’s a lot of tips and tricks I haven’t heard many people talk about.

Given his experience in so many fields of music, like songwriting, arranging, producing, engineering, and performing, I just know there’s going to be a lot more great content to look forward to as well.

As a two time Grammy winner for best R&B song and with twelve Grammy nominations, Jay Graydon probably doesn’t need any introduction. As a producer, he’s worked with artists such as Al Jarreau, Dionne Warwick, Herbie Hancock, Art Garfunkel, George Benson, The Manhattan Transfer, and many others. His songwriting hits include After The Love Is Gone, Turn Your Love Around, and Nothin’ You Can Do About It. As one of the premier session guitarists in LA during the ’70s and ’80s, his electric guitar playing can be heard on recordings by The Jackson Five, Gino Vannelli, Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand, Olivia Newton-John, and the list goes on and on. He famously played the solo on the Steely Dan song, Peg. And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Airplay. It’s a super group founded by Jay Graydon and David Foster that includes Bill Champlin and a bunch of members you’ll recognize from Toto: Jeff Porcaro, Steve Porcaro, Steve Lukather, and David Hungate.
