I wanted to start doing regular videos to update our community on what’s going on with LinkedMusicians. This is was quickly done, not scripted, unpolished and unedited, from my laptop. They say the camera puts on 20 lbs, so just consider that I had 4 cameras on me. Okay, not really!
If you want to discuss anything covered in the video, please don’t hesitate to ask in this thread. What I’d really love to do is have live calls where up to 100 of us could jump on and discuss the latest happenings at the site, what’s ahead, and get your thoughts and input. Just let me know in this thread.

BTW, the video is setup at YouTube so that it can only by seen by people who see the link and this thread is only visible to our members. This is just something I wanted to make to communicate to our community as opposed to the general public. I just find it much more personable.
This is the first video I’ve made anywhere since I was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy last year (when I was building this site) that temporarily left half of my face paralyzed. Some neurological issues remain (which really stick out to me watching the video and are tough to watch), so while I used to do public speaking, I stopped years ago and I’m way out of practice. Still, I thought it would be nice to go beyond typed posts. Maybe after a few of these, I’ll get smoother at it. Before the site launch, I made a video going through all of the features on the site, but it’s changed so much since then, it’s no longer usable. I’m probably going to work on doing a replacement for that in the next few weeks.

If you noticed that the Forums home page has less forums and subforums, last night I removed forums that hadn’t been active in 3 or more weeks from view. Don’t worry, they still exist, and if you have a link, you can still see them. They’re just hidden. I did this because we’re now focused on growing the community and frankly, people are less likely to register when they see a large percentage of inactive forums.
As we grow and the community becomes more active, I am happy to add back any of those forums or subforums that people want and new ones too. It’s very easy to do. I look at it like LinkedMusicians is our canvas to paint as we like.
If you want to stay up on what’s going on behind the scenes at LinkedMusicians — such as new content and sections being added to the site, new functionality, and new partnerships—just hit the subscribe link at the top of this page and you’ll receive email updates and alerts when you visit the site.
