LinkedMusicians is Being Migrated to a New Server This Weekend…

Hi All,

In the last several months, traffic to LinkedMusicians has been steadily increasing each month. Month-over-month traffic has increased from a little over 50 percent to more than 90 percent. While that’s great news, our web server hasn’t always handled these increases very well. We’ve had several outages during periods of high usage in the past few months. This wasn’t due to our server not being robust enough; it was due to the settings not being properly allocated to handle the amount of traffic the site was seeing during spikes (as per our host who was responsible for those settings). Consequently, we’re moving to a new server, and new host, and making a number of improvements to ensure that our new host, new server, and soon, a CDN, will provide us with greater stability as our community continues to grow.

During the migration, there will likely be some posts made in between the move that will be lost. I will update this thread to let you know more. If the site is out for a period and you have questions, you can always email me at linkedmusicians AT GMAIL dot com. I appreciate your understanding and thanks for being part of this community.
