PETER’S TAKE: This seems very cool. While it bills itself as “real-time,” I’d be interested in seeing how accurate it is for analyzing MIDI. I have a habit of jamming to old original songs and coming up with new parts and sometimes I have no idea what I played an hour later because it’s improvised. I end up trying to pick apart things by ear — I realize I could look over the MIDI, but if there’s a bunch of improvising, it would be easier just to see the chord flash on the screen, which is the EZKeys works, and I love that, but most plugins don’t have that functionality. I picked up a plugin from Hornet, but it’s not very accurate.

Route MIDI to Chord Analyzer and instantly see what chord you’re playing, its Roman numeral in your chosen key, and its harmonic function. Get intelligent suggestions for what chord to play next, from basic I-IV-V progressions to advanced chromatic mediants and Coltrane changes.
